Publication Ethics
"The Journal of Research Review" is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical research and publication. These guidelines are intended to ensure the integrity and credibility of the research we publish and to guide authors, reviewers, and editors in maintaining ethical research practices.
Duties of Authors:
- Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must submit original work that has not been published elsewhere. Proper citation and quotation of the work of others is essential. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable and will result in rejection of the manuscript.
- Authorship: Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research. All contributors should be listed as authors, and their specific contributions should be clearly stated.
- Data and Reporting: Authors must present their data accurately and objectively. Underlying data should be available for review upon request. Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of data constitute unethical behavior and will result in retraction of the publication.
- Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence their research or publication. This includes financial ties, personal relationships, or other competing interests.
- Ethical Approvals: Authors must ensure that their research complies with all relevant ethical regulations and has obtained the necessary approvals from ethical review boards where appropriate.
Duties of Reviewers:
- Confidentiality: Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts. They should not share any information about the manuscript with anyone outside the editorial process.
- Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively and based solely on the scientific merit of the manuscript. Personal opinions, biases, or conflicts of interest should not influence the review.
- Expertise: Reviewers should only agree to review manuscripts within their area of expertise.
- Timeliness: Reviewers should provide their feedback in a timely manner, as determined by the journal's deadlines.
Duties of Editors:
- Fairness and Objectivity: Editors should make publication decisions based solely on the scientific merit of the manuscript and the reviewer's recommendations. Personal opinions, biases, or conflicts of interest should not influence the decision.
- Conflict of Interest: Editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence their decisions.
- Confidentiality: Editors must maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and reviewer identities.
- Ethical Review: Editors should ensure that all research published in the journal has been conducted ethically and has obtained the necessary approvals.
- Retractions and Corrections: Editors should be prepared to retract or correct published articles if errors or misconduct are identified.
Additional Standards:
- "The Journal of Research Review" subscribes to the ethical guidelines set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
- Authors are encouraged to familiarize themselves with these guidelines and other relevant ethical codes of conduct in their research field.
- The journal reserves the right to investigate any allegations of misconduct and take appropriate action, including retraction of the publication.
