Abstract

The peace agreement signed between Saudi Arabia and Iran in China in March 2023 marked the end of a seven-year diplomatic rift between the two Gulf rivals (Iran and Saudi Arabia). China has been striving to reconciled the Iran-Saudi animosity and antagonism.  This research paper seeks to evaluate China’s involvement in this widely regarded diplomatic triumph. It also explores the recent process of reconciliation and normalization of diplomatic relations between two longstanding regional rivals Iran and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The paper further analyzes the strategic implications of this rapprochement for Pakistan.  It also discusses prospect for enhanced peace, stability, cooperation, and development in region and beyond the region. It also accentuates the achievements of China after peace process of 2023 and contemporary diplomatic challenges for both Iran and Saudi Arabia.
